My 35 for 35 Holiday Season Update – Items 1-10

by Scott on December 26, 2013

It’s been about 2 months since I finalized My 35 for 35 list. Here is a Holiday Season update on how I’m progressing so far.

1. Earn the Spartan Race Trifecta – I’ve purchased my Western Canadian Spartan Race Season Pass and marked the days on the calendar. If you’d like to join me, sign up for your Season Pass by clicking here!

2. Get “Beyond the Blue Collar” Published – The first book I ever wrote almost 6 years ago and I have but one question – To self-publish or to not self-publish… that is the question. Anyone have any experience and advice here?

3. Go on the First Ever Sibling-Only-Vacation – This seems to be a bit of a theme for me. Work before relaxation. I’m going to focus more effort and energy on relaxing and giving back to myself including experiencing the first ever sibling-only-vacation.

4. Write 35 Blog Posts – Since I posted the final 35 for 35 list, this is post number ten. I don’t think it’s going to be too difficult to get to 35 blog posts.

5. Deliver 3 – 5 Public Speeches – So far, I have delivered 1 speech. I think I may have undershot this one. I think I could have easily committed to more. I won’t stop at 5! I’ll keep a running total through the entire 35 for 35. If you know of any opportunities for me to speak, please contact me directly by clicking here!

6. Watch 50 of the Top 100 Movies of All Time – I haven’t even finalized what the top 100 list is that I’m working from yet. Although, I think we can all agree that The Godfather, Gandhi, Schindler’s List and Shawshank Redemption are all on that list. That would put me at 4 for 50 then!

7. Pose for a Fitness Photo Shoot – Thank you so much to KEYLIME Clothing who has agreed to include me in their spring clothing line photo shoot. Time to start burning off some of this Holiday weight!

As shallow as this may seem, it actually has some depth to it. In fact, it deserves it’s own post.

8. Become Passionate About a Cause – I think it’s safe to say I’ve accomplished this already. The Ronald McDonald House has found its way into my heart and I have definitely become passionate about getting involved with The House that Love Built.

What a wonderful day. The inaugural #FamilyTradition donating #gifts and #time at #TheRonaldMcDonaldHouse. Thank you to all of you who were a part of it. It means a lot to our family that you chose to be a part of it. #gratitude via realscottweller

9. Interview 35 Successful People in Edmonton – I need your help on this one. First off, what do you think the definition of success is? Secondly, who do you know that represents that definition of success?

10. Let Go of the Serial Bachelorhood – It’s been a while since I’ve been in a relationship. By my count, it’s been almost 2 years since I’ve been in a serious relationship. Over the last 12 months, I’ve committed myself to working on Me, so that when I do open myself to a new relationship, I’m not bringing my “baggage” to the table. Plus, the psychic told me it was going to happen this year!

Stay tuned for the update on items 11-20 tomorrow.
